Here is a second post, this time attempting to upload an image. The image is called “Bard” and is an original artwork by Irish painter, Jim Fitzpatrick. He has graciously given permission for me to reproduce his picture as an avatar on my blog.
The picture was used as a coverpage for a novel titled “Bard” by Morgan Llywellyn, which I read when I was about 17. This book more than anything else inspired me anf fired my interest in my celtic roots. I found myself strongly resonating with the figure of the Bard – the song maker and poet, the maker and breaker of reputations and hence of immortality, the only untouchable person on the battlefield. I was a music student and also had some poetic talents developing at the time, but this book inspired me to work on my poetry as a calling. Since then I have been on fire to make the world a better place, a warrior of the pen.
